In response to projected workforce shortages in the advanced manufacturing industry, the Workforce Network convened the Advanced Manufacturing Career Pathway Partnership team in 2009 to meet the needs of employers and employees in the industry.

Vision

Build a 21st century workforce development pipeline that will support area manufacturers, employees and the local economy.

Mission

Create an Advanced Manufacturing Career Pathways system that is responsive to the needs of employers and employees in the Greater Cincinnati Region.

Progress to Date

  • Developed the partnership team consisting of employers, educational institutions, and service providers. Employer chair named for the partnership team.
  • Developed competency model and finalized top in-demand occupations through employer interviews and labor market data.
  • Adopted the National Association of Manufacturers Skills Certification System.
  • Secured $100K/year from United Way for entry-level skills training.
